My little O said the silliest thing to me the other day after I asked him to finish his food. He responded with “Mom, I can’t eat anymore right now. I have to wait until the food in my stomach finishes downloading.” Ha! What a little goof. Silliest kid I know.

The Banister House
If you’ve been following me on instagram you’ll know that at the beginning of the year we purchased a historic home we lovingly call The Banister House (after it’s standout banister-photos of which I’ll show at a later time). It’s been a long time coming for us as we’ve been housesitting for in-laws for the past year and …
Time for another big project?
We’ve been on the lookout for another big project for some time and we think we might have just found it in this beautiful (but desperately needing some love) Victorian. Aren’t the windows just grand? I’m actually loving that wallpaper too (although it’s probably going to go). We’ll know more on this by the end …
Playing with dolls in our Book Nook
I’ve alway had a generational love for dolls (OK and particularly the ones with a touch of macabre to them) so I’m happy to report that baby M is enjoying dolls as well. But I’m even more happy to report that she’s smitten with books just as much if not more. She brings me books and …
An Outdoor Book Nook with Pottery Barn Kids!
I’m super excited to share with you one of my favorite summer projects we’ve been working on: this outdoor book nook with Pottery Barn Kids! It’s been a bit of a little reading oasis and the kids and I are in love with it! Seriously anything to encourage reading is a number one in my book. Head on over …
We made it on the Babble 100 Best Bloggers List!
I’m honored to be a part of Babble’s top 100 bloggers of 2013! Wowza, seriously flattered! There are so many great ones (including friends Meta, Danielle, and more!) on the list and so many that are new to me that I can’t wait to check out. One of the fun things they asked us to …
Home Tour:
Friends, my apologies for the lack of posts. To say we’ve been busy, busy, busy is an understatment. With moving, traveling, health ailments, illustrations galore, big projects and even more on the horizon, our lives have been a bit hectic and so the blog has been neglected…but I think things are starting calm down. We …
Cloud Room:
Sometimes it’s takes me a bit of time to finally pull together spaces in my home. The kids room has been no exception. Whether it is because I can’t make up my mind, or on the flip side, because have a very specific idea that needs special attention and time, or because mom is …
Mounted Bear Head
Many moons ago I attended a fun get together at Meta’s home where she taught us how to make mounted animals for kids room decor. She shows an approach with newspaper here but you can also carve it out of Styrofoam, which is what I did with this polar bear head. After shaping the Styrofoam, …
Not all little black rain clouds
Baby M’s corner of the world is finally starting to come together. Good thing too as she is rapidly growing out of her little Moses basket. It’s been such fun adding a touch of girl to the boys already colorful room. I’m especially fond of the new addition of the little black rain cloud (with …
