A First Easter for Baby

Celebrate Little Style

We’re all worn out over here after a great Easter weekend and enjoying a much needed spring break. In fact I meant to share these photos from baby’s first Easter with you yesterday but we’ve just been so happily lazy that I didn’t happen until now. And we’re perfectly OK with that.

We had a great Easter weekend complete with chocolate bunnies, jelly beans, vintage eggs, festive hunts, peaceful contemplation, hope and humble gratitude.

We initially had plans to visit my family in Colorado but had to stay put due to some unplanned health hiccups. I missed my family, my moms homemade chocolate marshmallow eggs, time with brothers, sisters, festivities and hunts with cousins but we still enjoyed the weekend none the less.

For this Easter I also had grand plans of making coordinating outfits for all of three of my kiddos.

And as usual, my plans met up with reality and that just didn’t happen. The boys ended up wearing a combination of different items, similar to what we did last year. And for baby M, I initially tried my hand at making up my own baby dress pattern but after making it two sizes too large and with one too many puckers I started over with a very simple dress made form a vintage baby pattern I found at a thrift store. I decided to use the trim from her baby bunny blanket for the collar to add just a pop of something unexpected as the dress was pretty simple.

I also made here another bunny hood from the Oliver and S bear pattern. I’m quite taken with how utterly adorable she looks in it.

Easter has always been a favorite of mine. I really love this time of promise and celebration and I like how there is not as much pressure to gift things so when I do, it’s spontaneous and fun. And I love the message of hope, sacrifice, life, renewal and joy that comes from this blessed season. We need it and we are so grateful for it.

Here’s hoping your Easter weekend was also filled with life and joy and time with loved ones!

  1. Everything you make is just adorable! Children included. She looks so cute! I love those little hats. What a cute idea for an Easter bonnet.

  2. That hat.. I am dying over here. My daughter is the same age and I can easily picture this hat on her. I wish I knew how to sew!
