Baby M’s corner of the world is finally starting to come together. Good thing too as she is rapidly growing out of her little Moses basket. It’s been such fun adding a touch of girl to the boys already colorful room.
I’m especially fond of the new addition of the little black rain cloud (with polka dots – which ensures all things cheery in my book). I made it from some favorite fabric found with friends on a past trip to the LA fabric district. And I have to give credit to my designer friend Meta for the cute suggestion of a little cloud over the crib. I just love how it pulls everything together.
I’m also loving seeing her new Lumi doll that she received for her first Christmas. And my talented friend Roxi Marj gave her this lovely lambkin pillow (as well as some artwork to go with that I can’t wait to put up!). And you’ll probably recognize this heart shaped pillow from last Valentines Day (thinking I might have a slight obsession with pillows…).
As I’ve mentioned before, I have the Littles packed in together in one room like sardines. But it’s fun to see the baby’s space feel a bit separate…as if it’s on it’s own.
Which, as you can see in the pic below, it’s clearly not. She’s right up against her brothers…who have a much more colorful scheme going on. But I had fun limiting the palette in this corner. Makes it feel like a bit of an oasis. Which is just what the little gal and I need.
Now to finish up the decorating for the rest of the room. So many ideas…how will I settle in on just one?
And speaking of revamping new spaces…welcome to the new blog space! Blogger has been great…like and old friend really…but we wanted to try a few new things and finally took the plunge into the world of dot com…and so far are super happy with it. Hope to have you join us over here as well!
I am obsessed with those colors. The peach is incredible. AND I am in love with the new site! Looks amazing. Well done!
thanks Kersey! So excited to have you over her now. xo
Love your new blog layout, and you’ve got me so inspired to work on my girls’ spaces which have been languishing for a year and a half now YIKES!
yay! I know what you are saying. I’ve been neglecting the kids space for far too long…so ready to tackle it.
I love that Lumi doll. Also, I feel like I should have brought a house warming gift of some kind, nice new space!
what a sweet idea. love it.
Congrats on your new site, Merrilee. I hope you have fun and lots of success at ALT. Wish I could make it. Love the rain cloud you made for Baby M and all the decorating you’re doing for her.
Ohh I love that color palette! I’m having a little girl of my own in May, and I can’t decide on how to decorate her nursery. That peachy is perfect.
Did you ever post your birth story for baby M? Or reveal her name? I’ve been dying to hear what m stands for!
I’m so behind on the birth story but I have it in the works!
Your new site looks amazing!!! Heard you were a big hit at ALT and hope you had a great time.
It was so nice to see you at Alt! Love the new site and best wishes with everything. Let’s stay in touch. Bum chop!
The little black rain cloud is so cute!! I love it!
adore! All I can hear in my head is “tut, tut, it looks like rain” {quoting Christopher Robin from Winnie the Pooh}. Such sweetness. thanks for sharing. xxoo
Could i please use this design??? i love it!
Did you use metallic thread to hang the drops? Do you just tie knots I can’t seem to figure how to hang the drops from mine! I feel it looks unfinished just stringing through with a big knot! Please advise would be great!
I actually just used grey yarn and pinned and sewed it up in the bottom of the cloud and within the tops of the rain drops. hope that makes sense.
